Diabetes is a global epidemic that has enormous health, social, and economic implications. Because early diabetes detection is critical to addressing this epidemic, VeraLight is developing the SCOUT DS system. SCOUT DS is intended to be the first non-invasive diabetes screening system designed to provide a more accurate and convenient method for screening type 2 diabetes, and pre-diabetes based on the presence of advanced glycation endproducts biomarkers found in skin. Unlike current screening methods, a SCOUT DS test is intended to require no blood draw, no fasting and no waiting for a lab result.
